4 reasons why team building is important in an organization

Organizations in Nepal often focus on making the client happy that they forget to invest in the most valued asset – the employees. Only 3 out of 10 organizations outsource team building facilitators in Nepal. Team Building is important for all kinds of businesses as it helps to boost the morale of employees and increases work efficiency.

We spend most of our time at work, but it can get hard to know the person who sits in front of your desk and what they like. It is not going to happen unless you make an effort to talk to them and bond with them personally. We became best of friends by never talking- said no one ever! People find out similarities or mutual interest over lunch breaks or parties. It may be difficult to build a deeper connection at work. Thus, team building is very necessary for all kinds of organizations. People tend to stick around in their jobs as long as they have supportive colleagues and a good work environment.

Our 18 years of experience in the field of teambuilding has taught us that no matter what company you belong to, there are always a few reasons why you could use teambuilding:

  1. Motivates Employees :

Do you feel like it has been a while since your employees have put any input to weekly meetings or presented new ideas?

New ideas flourish only when team members feel confident enough to express themselves. Teambuilding activities allow employees to step out of their bubble and have fun. There is a huge difference between employees who come to work just so that they can get paid at the end of the month and those who come to work because they are excited about work. It is their passion and they genuinely want to contribute to the mission of the company. Teambuilding activities motivate employees to take on new challenges and make them feel like a part of the team.

  1. Facilitates better communication /breaks the barrier:

We had booked a large team that did not know the number of people who worked in their company. Let alone an effective communication, some of them hadn’t even seen each other. It is common for companies to not know the people from other department but there is no reason why you shouldn’t know each other. With the help of a variety of activities during our closed camp, we were able to build strong communication among all the members. They sure went home having learned a thing or two about each other.

Also, team building is a great networking tool. Gone are the days when we spend our entire lives in one job as our parents did. Teambuilding sessions could give you an opportunity to network with other employees who could be your future job references. Many people spend their time going to tedious industry networking events but don’t acknowledge that team building activities make it easier to build a network from your current position.

For an organization to function well, communication is the key! We help you have an open discussion about various subject matters in a way that is fun.

  1. Makes Employees Feel valued:

Investing in your employees is probably the most required investment in any organization. People don’t leave bad jobs, they leave bad management. When a company encourages a fun activity, employees are more like to be engaged and feel valued. Engaged employees are also less likely to leave their jobs.

In fact, studies show that companies with engaged employees earn as much as 2.5 times more income than competitors with low employee engagement.

  1. Promotes creativity:

Teambuilding activities help employees have new experiences outside the work setting. It will expose them to a new environment where they can see each other as colleagues or even friends instead of bosses and managers. And the interactive activities with the employees in team building can ignite creativity and fresh ideas.

Overall, team building in the workplace enables better communication, better relationships and ultimately increases productivity. It helps in creating a strong culture of teamwork and establishes a strong foundation of trust and collaboration. Teambuilding is a small investment to make for a connected workforce and actually saves the company’s money in the longer run.
